If you are 72 as I am, you have stood witness to countless global conflicts and several times have stood sentinel while global forces stood eye to eye threatening total annihilation. And here we are again.

When I first arrived in 1958 there was a billboard on Bridge Hill leading down to the Okanagan Lake Bridge. It had a big beautiful BC grown apple with these words emblazoned across it, ‘Coast Japs not welcome!’.
