And in we went. If you've watched scenes like this unfold on cop shows, guns drawn, furtive glances, the air thick with tension, not knowing what was going to greet them behind the locked hotel room door. It's just like that! BLAM!

I wrote this short story a couple of years ago. I often think that stories are more entertaining and memorable with the spoken word. The great Canadian storyteller Stuart McLean understood that. The human voice can bring some stories to life in a way that the written word just can’t do. And for me an added bonus, now that I’m well into my 70’s, I get to relive some moments, or remember them. I’m not quite sure which.
